Stuff & Nonsense Troupe is seeking this year’s Troupers to be part of the Mary Poppins Festival from 23 June to 2 July 2017.
We are seeking people interested in community theatre/roving performance who love play, improvisation and interacting with an audience. Suitable for people aged 13 and over.
About the Audition
It will be group audition for 45 minutes consisting of improvisation/games and a 2-minute prepared piece. The prepared piece should showcase your playfulness and can be text, song, musical instrument, clowning, circus skills, physical theatre or dance.
Rehersals and Performances
Directed by Kristen Maloney, rehearsals and performances will be held from 16 June through to 3 July 2017.
About the Director
Kristen Maloney is an independent director, writer and producer based in Brisbane. After six years of climbing the corporate ladder, Kristen decided it would be a much better idea to quit her stable career for the world of theatre.
Currently studying Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drama) / Bachelor of Business at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Kristen was the 2015 Artistic Director of Vena Cava Productions (QUT’s student theatre company).
In 2014, she founded Backyard Theatre Collective, and her credits include writing, directing and producing Loch Ard, which had a sold out season at Anywhere Festival 2015. Directing and producing The Picnic, which played to capacity audiences as part of 2015 Festival of Australian Student Theatre. Writing and directing Saying Goodbye to Ally as well as directing The Picnic, which featured as part of Backyard Double Bill at Anywhere Festival 2016. Directing Player 2 at Melbourne Fringe 2016 and FRINGE WORLD 2017, where Player 2 was nominated for the FRINGE WORLD 2017 Theatre Award.
