Following their sell-out performances of A Festival of Russian Ballet, the Imperial Russian Ballet Company return to Australia & New Zealand. This diverse and stunning programme in three awe-inspiring acts is proudly presented by Russian Ballet Ltd.
This is the first time that the Imperial Russian Ballet Company have brought this presentation to Australia and New Zealand. This stunning and diverse programme consists of the electrifying Carmen in ACT 1, the romantic Les Sylphides in Act 2 and the fairy tale spectacular of Princess Aurora’s wedding from Sleeping Beauty in Act 3.
ACT 1 - Carmen
Carmen is a flirtatious and seductive gypsy woman whose love affair with two men ends in tragedy.
ACT 2 – Les Sylphides
A short ballet in one act about a young man who while walking at night encounters a group of sylphs or magical woman
ACT 3 – Sleeping Beauty (Act III)
A holiday is declared for the wedding of Princess Aurora & Prince Desire. Invited guests include many fairy tale characters including Little Red Riding Hood, Puss in Boots and Cinderella. This is a joyous and happy ballet which will be loved by all
The Imperial Russian Ballet Company was formed in 1994 by the Bolshoi Theatre soloist, Gediminas Taranda. The cast of 40 elite dancers and support staff will travel to Australia in September and October 2018
