As children, the Patterson brothers were tutored by Vida Leahy at the Queensland Art Gallery. and although they continued to draw and apint throughout their lives, they did not pursue art as a career, instead choosing architecture and engineering.
Gavin's work in the exhibition is a series of watercolour and pencil sketches of his childhood holiday house in Hervey Bay, The Gables. The sketches illustrate a self-published book on the history of the house.
Andrew started drawing pastel portraits a few years ago and lately has turned to lanscapes.
