Maryborough invites you to put your best Steampunk gear on and be part of a costumed assault to claim the world record for the largest number of Steampunk enthusiasts in one place.
Already famous for its steam enthusiasts and model trains, this event features creative groups like Arts link, Maker Space and recording artist Aspy Jones as well as established manufacturers like Olds Engineering to showcase the elegance of Portside and Queens Park in a stylish new way.
Creative Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) will be woven through a family picnic and the afternoon’s activities, with the emphasis being on costume design, family fun and imagination.
The Steampunk festivities will include the firing of the Time Cannon at 1pm, historic engine display, tea dueling, Steampunk merchandise, Costume Competition, lawn games, bagpipes, and other entertainment.
The Mary Ann and MELSA Trains will be operating, and the Museums in Wharf Street will remain open for the afternoon.
Energetic visitors can party on with Streetparty activities later in the evening at Portside Park.
Tea, coffee and cold drinks will be available to purchase or bring your own picnic.
