WORKSHOP DETAILS: Story Sedimentation -Layering Fiction with Depth, Beauty, and Complexity
Telling stories is intrinsic to the human condition; it is how we teach the past, speak of the present, and imagine the future. Each of us has a tale to tell, yet not every story we read or hear stays with us, while others are like well-loved friends who walk beside us throughout our lives. Those are the stories with layers; stories that resonate well-beyond the last word. In this workshop, we will develop a micro-fiction story through a series of layers, adding depth and beauty as we explore some of the essential elements of fiction. Play with character and clocks, with point of view and setting, with structure and objects as metaphor, before taking a leap into the experimental!

REQUIREMENTS: Participants will need to bring pen and paper (or laptop) for note taking.
