Shelly Fussell - OFC Mon, 26 August - 3:30 PM

Join local author Shelly Fussell to celebrate Children's Book Week for a special storytime and craft session. Shelly will be reading her new shortlisted book, Carmichael's Journey.

Carmichael's Journey follows Carmichael, the Carnaby's Black Cockatoo who has made his first flight out of the nest and joined his parents on the long journey to their coastal feeding grounds. But when they return, they find out their home has been destroyed. What will they do? And, more importantly, what can we do to help?

Shelly Fussell is an Education Assistant who discovered a love of working with children late in life. A new start in education gave her a renewed interest in literacy, and encouraging children not only be aware of the environment, but be kind and thoughtful toward the creatures that live in it. Our natural environment has never needed our voices to be heard more than now.

Books will be available to purchase and sign on the day.
