Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Oliver Chris (Twelfth Night, Young Marx) and David Moorst (Allelujah!) lead the cast as Titania, Oberon and Puck, and introducing Hammed Animashaun, a master of big-hearted comic nonsense, as Bottom. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is directed by Nicholas Hytner with movement direction by Arlene Phillips.

A feuding fairy King and Queen of the forest cross paths with four runaway lovers and a troupe of actors trying to rehearse a play. As their dispute grows, the magical royal couple meddle with mortal lives leading to love triangles, mistaken identities and transformations… with hilarious, but dark consequences.

Those looking for deep meaning in A Midsummer Night's Dream generally find themselves frustrated - the whole play is comprised of illusion, a joyous comedy with the emphasis on fun.

Could be the most joyously affirmative Shakespeare production I’ve ever seen. ★★★★★ The Metro

Five stars might not be enough. ★★★★★ The Observer
