There are a number of nearby creeks and good access to off shore fishing grounds. Tinnanbar is located off the Cooloola Coast Road which can be accessed through Maryborough.  There is also a short cut through Bauple using the forestry roads.


Miners moved into the area as early as 1864 when a seam of coal was discovered on the banks of the Burrum River.


Situated between Mungar and Maryborough, stop at the historic Yengarie Hall for a game of tennis or BBQ. 


Tuan is a typical sleepy little fishing hamlet.
