Torbanlea

Posted on 30 Mar 2017 by Our Fraser Coast

The old coal mining towns of Howard and Torbanlea are filled with good old fashioned country charm.

Miners moved into the area as early as 1864 when a seam of coal was discovered on the banks of the Burrum River.

At Torbanlea, visit the town's picnic race track and sporting grounds where you can experience the fantastic atmosphere of the annual picnic races and family fun day each October.
