Artist Profile: Joyce Bott

Back

Every morning I take my husband into town for donuts and coffee and while we sit in the café, I sketch the people around me. I am fascinated by people in all their wonderful shapes and sizes. My sketch book is quite full after 50 years as an artist!”

"I have always created and decided to really peruse art in the 1970's. I love to create using paint, scratch board and ceramics. We have lived in many places over the years and been inspired by the landscapes and homes we have lived in.

Quite often a special piece of furniture will turn up in a painting and animals that we have given a home to regularly make an appearance."

One of my proudest achievements is winning the open section in the Maryborough Art Society Competition in 2000.

To me living a creative life where art fills my days continues to be an incredibly rewarding way of life. The Fraser Coast provides so much inspiration and support for artists.
