***Brolga Theatre Coronavirus Update 23/03/20*** Issued 1pm 23 March 2020

As a precautionary measure to help minimise the potential spread of the coronavirus we regret to advise that the Brolga Theatre & Convention Centre is closed until further notice.

This is further to the cancellation of performances through to the end of April announced last week and means we are now closed to the public completely for Box Office, functions and corporate hires.

Ebb & Flow Restaurant is also closed indefinitely.

We are still processing refunds for postponed and cancelled events and will be in contact with ticketholders shortly if we haven’t already.

Our team is working on alternative creative ways to keep connected with the community during this closure.

Brolga Theatre Temporary Closure - Issued 12:30pm 18 March 2020

Dear Patrons,

The Brolga Theatre and Convention Centre is continuously monitoring the evolving situation in regard to COVID-19. The current advice from the Australian Government Department of Health is that all non-essential gatherings be restricted to 100 people effective immediately and that gatherings under this size should be evaluated to determine whether they need to proceed.

These limits help to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They are especially important for vulnerable people, such as those over 60 and those with chronic disease.

At this stage the Brolga Theatre will be closed for performances from Wednesday 18 March until the end of April and all performances during this time will be cancelled or postponed.

The list of performances affected are as follows:

  • Sleeping Beauty – Moscow Ballet La Classique
  • Morning Melodies – Bloom Sings the Stevie Nicks, Carole King and Linda Ronstadt Songbook
  • Agro Up Late
  • MET Opera Live – Porgy & Bess
  • Sunday Riverside with The Nomadics
  • The Robertson Brothers 60s Variety TV Show
  • NT Live – Cyrano De Bergerac

FOR TICKET HOLDERS

If you are a ticket holder, there is no need to call us.

The Brolga Box Office team will contact all patrons that are currently booked into these shows to offer a rescheduled date, a credit or refund as appropriate. As you can imagine, it will take some time to contact all patrons impacted by these postponements or cancellations. We therefore ask for your patience while we work through the list of patrons affected. We will be starting with next week’s shows and working through these shows in date order, so it may take some time to get to the shows later in April.

STAY UP TO DATE

The situation is changing rapidly and an ongoing review of performances from May onwards will occur.

Updates will be posted on the Brolga website and Facebook page.

We wish for all our patrons, staff and performers to stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Brolga Theatre shortly.

Brolga Theatre Update - Issued 3pm 16 March 2020

Dear Patrons

Fraser Coast Regional Council and the Brolga Theatre are closely monitoring the evolving situation regarding COVID-19.

As you may be aware, the Australian Government is placing limits on non-essential organised gatherings to fewer than 500 people from Monday 16 March 2020 as a precautionary measure.

These limits help to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They are especially important for vulnerable people, such as those over 60 and those with chronic disease.

In accordance with this advice, we are currently assessing our upcoming performance program and will provide updates as they become available.

We are currently experiencing a large number of enquiries to find out more about whether performances are going ahead and information relating to cancellations.  As the situation is changing rapidly, we are working on a performance by performance basis, communicating with ticket holders within 7 days of each performance.

Stay up to date:

You can stay up to date with the latest information about upcoming performances by visiting our website, following us on Facebook or calling the Box Office on 4122 6060 between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday or one hour prior to each performance.
