Australia Day nominations open

Nominations for the Fraser Coast 2018 Australia Day Awards are now open.

“The awards recognise the volunteers who put so much time and effort into our community to make the Fraser Coast such a vibrant, family-friendly region,” Fraser Coast Mayor Chris Loft said.

“Thousands of people across the Fraser Coast volunteer their time and work tirelessly for the community.

“I urge individuals, members of service clubs, sporting clubs and schools to nominate their hard-working colleagues, dedicated members or students whose efforts deserve to be appreciated.

“The Australia Day Awards are a perfect way for the community to say thank you for all of their efforts.”

Nomination forms can be downloaded from http://www.frasercoast.qld.gov.au/australia-day and close on December 17.

The awards will be presented on Australia Day, January 26, 2018.

Australia Day Award categories include:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Sportsperson of the Year
  • Young Sportsperson of the  Year
  • Cultural Award of the Year
  • Young Cultural Award of the Year 
  • Community Group / Community Event of the Year
