"As an artist living on the Fraser Coast, it’s hard not to be inspired by the richness of this region's wildlife.
"Nature has this amazing ability to delight the senses and refresh the soul. If I can take the viewer on a journey, if they look at the work and imagine something living, then I’ve successfully shared what my eyes have seen and my heart has felt.
"I’m often asked why I chose to work in bronze; not only is it beautiful, but it’s strong, timeless and will last forever. To have work cast in a metal that was so instrumental in shaping human history, including art, is very humbling.
"I feel proud to have been part of the Peace Cake Project, creating a sculpture that preserved a slice of this region’s history."
