How to Enter

  1. Write a short story (maximum 500 words) about one of the objects in the "What's The Story" cabinets.
  2. Send it to us along with your name, age and telephone number via:
      -  email: community&[email protected]; or
      -  hard copy to Gatakers Artspace, 311 Kent Street, Maryborough.
  3. Entries close 4pm on Monday 3 July 2017.
  4. Winners will be announced on the Our Fraser Coast Facebook page on Tuesday 18 July 2017. 
  5. The winning stories will be published on the Our Fraser Coast website.

*Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the Fraser Coast Regional Councils “What’s The Story” competition. By entering, entrants accept these terms.

  1. Entry is open only to residents of the Fraser Coast region. Council employees, their immediate families, and companies associated with this competition are ineligible to enter.
  2. The competition will be conducted during the competition period (Tuesday 13 June 2017 to 5pm, Sunday 2 July 2017). Entries close 4pm on Monday 3 July 2017.
  3. Winners will be announced on the Our Fraser Coast Facebook page and will be notified by telephone on Tuesday 18 July 2017. 
  4. The winning stories will be published on the Our Fraser Coast website.
  5. All entries may be used for future promotional material.
  6. Council accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries.
  7. The competition will be drawn on Friday, 14 July 2015.
  8. The prize is one of 3  The Complete Collection Box Sets*. Box Set includes six Mary Poppins stories by PL Travers.
  9. This prize must be taken as stated. The prizes are not transferable for any other Council services, fees, charges or cash.
  10. Council may request, participation in promotional activity surrounding this competition and the winning of any prize, free of charge, and the winner must consent to Council using their name and image in promotional material.
  11. The prize must be claimed by Friday 28 July, 2017.
    If the prize is not claimed by Friday 28 July, 2017, the winner’s entry will be deemed invalid and Council reserves the right to distribute the prize.
  12. Council will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. 
  13. Council may in its discretion suspend, cancel or recommence the competition if for any reason the competition is not capable of running as planned, or the determination of the prize winner or the delivery of the prize is prevented or hindered by any outside agent or event.
  14. Council will use any personal information provided for the purpose of entering the competition, notifying a winner and contacting subscribers. Council is authorised to collect this information in accordance with the Local Government Act 2009 and other local government acts. By submitting an entry, you consent to Council publishing your name and image in our publications or other local media. Council advises that publication on our website may result in information being transmitted outside Australia.
  15. Personal information provided is dealt with in accordance with Council’s Privacy Policy.
  16. Council’s decision in relation to all aspects of this competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
