Maryborough Story Trail: Artisans of Storytelling

The Fraser Coast Regional Council is calling for Expressions of interest from Fraser Coast / Gympie/ Wide Bay Burnett Creatives to capture and share some of Maryborough’s stories in a digital format.  These stories will become part of the public story trail in the Maryborough CBD and may feature in one of the digital story boxes pictured below, or as an evening projection on one of several public walls in the city.

Digital stories could include:

  • Video
  • Animation
  • Oral history with photographic slide show
  • Oral history with Illustrations

Selected artists may choose from / or propose a theme or story and will be commissioned to produce a digital story of about 2-3minutes.

Professional  Collaborations are also encouraged. You may be an artist but don’t have video or multimedia skills. Why not team up with another local creative to combine your talents?

Selected artists will be paid $1000 per completed digital story.

Selected artists must provide completed digital stories on USB, to Gatakers Artspace, 311 Kent Street.

Completed Digital stories are due on or prior to 22 May 2017.

ARTIST EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Urangan Pier Video

Council seeks Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified videographers to produce a 5 minute video about the Urangan Pier for display in the Fraser Coast Discovery Sphere theatrette.

Project Overview

2017 was the Centenary of the Urangan Pier.  A five minute video will capture the story of the pier. This will include interviews with community members, footage of the current day pier and the use of historical photos. Videographers will be required to film interviews and pier footage on location in Hervey Bay. 

Applicants are invited to provide:

  • Links to examples of previous work or online portfolio 
  • ABN
  • A quote for the production of a 5 minute video. The quote should include:
    • video capture
    • editing
    • music
    • production
    • travel costs
    • interviews with community members

The selected videographer will work closely with the curator. The curator will:

  • Coordinate video interviews
  • Source historical photos
  • Liaise with the videographer and Council’s Cultural Services team to produce the video

 

Applicants will need to be available for filming from 10 April – 23 April, 2017. 

Applicants will need to have an ABN

Final production is due on or before 5 May 2017
