Art and Culture

  • Gatakers Art Space  -  This community arts and cultural hub caters for a broad range of creative activities, including visual arts, performers, musicians, writers, photographic groups, dance, community groups, workshop facilities and school based arts activities.   There are touring exhibitions and a permanent rotating exhibition of Council’s art collection. Admission is free.
    Outside the Artspace is the Portside Passage – a landscaped lane with works of art reflecting the area’s rich history and providing a delightful link between the heritage precinct of Wharf Street and the CBD. Gatakers Artspace is at 102 Wharf Street, Maryborough.

  • Maryborough Art Society - Maryborough's artistic community displays its many talents at the 282 Kent Street, Maryborough (former Winter Garden Theatre).  The Maryborough Art Society exhibits arts, crafts and works by local artists in a series of changing displays along with exhibitions by travelling artists.   www.maryboroughart.com
