Tour the old haunts
Discover Maryborough in all its ghostly glory or relive the days of life in the early colony on these two remarkable tours.
Ship to Shore Tour
Get on board for a fantastic night of history, fine food and entertainment on the Ship to Shore Tour, an exciting interactive tour departing Portside every third Saturday of the month.
Be prepared for an unforgettable night of interactive role-playing as you relive the history of Maryborough’s historic port while acting the part of new immigrants arriving in the colony in the late 1880s.
You will be led by a colourful cast of costumed characters who will act as your guides. The tour includes a colonial bus tour, sunset river cruise, horse and wagon ride and a three course dinner in historic Wharf Street hotels and the Port Residence riverside restaurant.
Ghostly Tours and Tales of the Port of Maryborough
Maryborough’s dark past has created the perfect “haunt” for scores of earthbound spirits – and you might just meet some of them on the Ghostly Tours and Tales of the Port of Maryborough.
The tour is a delightfully eerie progressive dinner in historic haunted sites while an impressive cast, which includes the Gravedigger, the Parson and the Town Gossip, recreates true stories of love, betrayal, tragedy and murder – and of course spooky tales of the paranormal.
It is held on Saturday night, on the last weekend of the month to coincide with Sunday in the Park - a sunday morning of music, steam trains and food stall set in glorious parkland.
Bookings for both tours are essential and can be made at the Maryborough Visitor Information Centre, City Hall, Kent Street. Call 1800 214 789.
