Fraser Coast residents and visitors will have the opportunity to engage with a truly enchanting exhibition and creative activities at The Story Bank’s Glorious Gardens

In celebration and in partnership with the Maryborough Open Gardens on Saturday, 26 August, 2023, the garden at The Story Bank will come alive with a day full of activities, celebrating the beauty and significance of gardens in our lives.

There will also be a special garden themed Story Time in the Yarning Circle at the museum on 22 August, 2023. This will be filled with stories, songs, and crafts that focus on the fascinating plants and animals found in gardens

Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said it was great to see a new addition to the popular event.

"Glorious Gardens promises to be an extraordinary showcase of the cultural and historical importance of gardens in our society,” he said.

“As part of the Glorious Gardens initiative, The Story Bank has planned a diverse range of activities to cater to visitors of various ages and interests.”

The centrepiece of Glorious Gardens will be the exhibit open from late August through November 2023.

Cr Seymour said Glorious Gardens would explore the captivating social history of gardens and their diverse forms and functions.

"Glorious Gardens is not just an exhibit; it's an experience that celebrates the rich heritage and cultural significance of gardens throughout history,” he said.

“This exhibition will surely appeal to garden enthusiasts, literary aficionados, families, and history buffs alike."

Admission to the exhibit will be included in The Story Bank's regular ticket prices, providing an opportunity for everyone to immerse themselves in the wonders of gardens.
