Artist in Residence Program: The Treehouse Urangan Community Wellness Centre

Back

The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC) is calling for applications from artists whose work can be displayed on or near the 'Wellness Wall' of our upcoming Tree House Urangan Community Wellness Centre (“Centre”).

The Centre, managed by HBNC,  is an evolving new space in Hervey Bay to support community members’ positive wellbeing through a holistic ‘Wellness Hub’.

An integral part of the Centre is the Wellness Wall – an acknowledgement of the research showing that Arts engagement significantly improves the mental well-being of participants.

The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre has been successful in receiving a Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grant for the purposes of incorporating an Artist in Residence program in the new Centre.

The new Centre, adjacent to the Hervey Bay Botanical Gardens in Urangan is currently ‘under construction' for refurbishing and expansion of the Urangan Community Centre with an anticipated opening in late 2021.

Great news! Applications have been extended until 3 December 2021 for Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre’s Artist in Residence. This is a great opportunity to display your art and host workshops. To find out more or to lodge an expression of interest, please visit their website: www.hbnc.com.au
