Maryborough Regional Arts Council presents "Classical Music Across the Ages" by The Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra
Conducted by Aaron Wyatt
Over 70 musicians on stage.
Proud Noongar man Aaron Wyatt takes up the baton for the Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra as they perform his original composition, Voiceless: Reflections on a Referendum, in addition to:
Sergei Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with soloist, Carina Weder, and
Jean Sibelius’ majestic Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 43.
Wyatt is a celebrated conductor and composer who became the first Indigenous conductor of an Australian state orchestra, and we welcome him as the first Indigenous conductor of the Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra.
This will be the final concert in the 3-year partnership between the Maryborough Regional Arts Council Inc, the Brolga Theatre and the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.
Special thanks to our 2026 Music Fund Sponsors and Patrons, in particular Major Sponsor Maryborough Services Club and RADF
After the concert everyone is welcome to mingle and meet the conductor and musicians in the foyer for 30 minutes (the bar will be open)
