GIANT, the 5-star critically acclaimed play starring John Lithgow (Killers of the Flower Moon, The Crown) as Roald Dahl, comes to the big screen.

It's the summer of 1983. The Witches is about to be published and Roald Dahl is making last-minute edits. But the fallout from his recent, explicitly antisemitic article refuses to fade. Across one extraordinary afternoon at his family home, and shaken by an explosive confrontation, Dahl is forced to choose: issue a public apology or risk his name and reputation forever.

Inspired by true events, GIANT explores, with wit and intelligence, the fine line between personal conviction and dangerous rhetoric, offering a compelling and deeply complex portrait of one of the world's most celebrated—and controversial—authors.

Following acclaimed sold-out seasons in London's West End and on Broadway, GIANT has become one of the most celebrated stage productions of recent years. Directed by Nicholas Hytner, GIANT received four Tony Award nominations, including Best Play and Best Leading Actor for John Lithgow, and won three Olivier Awards, including Best New Play, Best Actor (John Lithgow) and Best Supporting Actor (Elliot Levey).
