Great music and unashamed emotional audience appeal make this film one not to miss.
Film release date: 2025. Film languages: French (English subtitles)
Although nominally a comedy, this film by Emmanuel Courcol has a serious theme in which he comments on socio-economic equality and personal satisfaction.
The story follows the lives of 2 brothers who were separated as babies. One is taken in by a wealthy Parisian family, while the other now lives with his widowed mother in an economically deprived area of northern France, where the boys were born.
Both boys are musical, but while the Parisian Thibaut has become an orchestra conductor, Jimmy plays in the local band and works in the school cafeteria. When Thibaut , after a health scare, finds out about the existence of a brother, he tries to nurture his brother's musical gifts.
