This film examines how 2 sisters deal with their complicated relationship with their estranged father

Film release date: 2025. Film languages: English, Norwegian (English subtitles)

Held in the Auditorium. Entry is via the terrace.

Given an approval rating of between 94-96% by Rotten Tomatoes, this film examines how 2 sisters deal with their complicated relationship with their estranged father, who used to be an acclaimed film director and who is now hoping to make a comeback. He offers Nora, one of his daughters, a role in his film but she refuses and instead a young Hollywood star receives the role, which complicates the family dynamics.

This film directed by Joachim Trier won the Grand Prix at Cannes in 2025, and was also voted the Best Film not in English at the BAFTAs. It also picked up a number of other awards at various festivals and received much critical acclaim, with one critic commenting that ' ... the pathos, the emotion and the family dynamics really get you in the gut. No matter who you are you can relate to certain aspects of the story'.

Great performances by Stellan Skarsgard as the difficult father, Renate Reinsve as Nora and Ellen Fanning as the young star from Hollywood.
