Australia’s favorite seaside concert, Sounds of Rock, is back for another massive installment, bringing a powerhouse roster of national icons, ARIA winners, and radio mainstays to the Seafront Oval. With a lineup built on decades of hits, fans have the chance to catch their favorite artists against a stunning ocean backdrop. Proudly supported by the Fraser Coast Regional Council and Harcourts Ignite, this 2026 edition is set to be the ultimate celebration of the Australian songbook.
As one of the country's most successful singer-songwriters, Pete Murray has become a staple of the national music scene. Crafting a signature blend of roots and rock through laid-back grooves and soulful melodies, his impressive career is anchored by three consecutive #1 albums: Feeler (2003), See The Sun (2005) and Summer At Eureka (2008). With over 1.2 million albums sold in Australia alone, the Byron Bay local has earned 17 ARIA nominations and a permanent place on the airwaves. Pete Murray's appearance at Sounds of Rock in 2026 will feature his best-loved hits like "Better Days" and "Opportunity" in a perfect outdoor setting.
It’s hard to find a rock act with as much enduring grit as The Screaming Jets. Whether it’s massive radio hits like “Better,” “Helping Hand,” “October Grey,” or “C’mon”; landmark records like their triple-platinum debut All For One (1991); or thousands of blistering live shows across the globe—The Screaming Jets have done it all, leading the charge for Australian pub rock for over three decades. Fronted by the high-octane energy of Dave Gleeson, the Newcastle quintet remains a premier live force that never fails to deliver.
A multi-instrumentalist with a career defined by chart-topping success, Diesel (Mark Lizotte) is a master of pop-rock-soul. With a songwriting career spanning over 50 years, Richard Clapton provides the definitive soundtrack to the Australian summer. From the timeless “Girls on the Avenue” to the soaring “I Am an Island,” the ARIA Hall of Famer continues to capture the national spirit with his observational lyrics and classic rock hooks. Meanwhile, Pseudo Echo will be amping up the tempo with their pioneering brand of synth-pop. Famous for their global #1 smash “Funkytown” and new wave essentials like “Listening,” Brian Canham’s crew are set to turn the Seafront Oval into a massive seaside party.
Bringing world-class vocal power to the stage, Emmy-winner Toni Childs will showcase the unique, earthy timbre that made her a global star. Fans can expect a moving performance featuring her biggest international hits, including “Don’t Walk Away” and “Stop Your Fussin’.” Adding to the day’s massive hit-list, 1927 return to celebrate the songs that made them a household name. With their debut album ‘...Ish (1988) becoming one of the highest-selling debuts in Australian history, tracks like “That’s When I Think of You” and “If I Could” remain essential sing-alongs for any music lover.
