Set in the World War 1 era, a pregnant mare survives a shipwreck off Sandy Cape, Fraser Island (K,gari). She gives birth to a healthy colt and together they roam the bushland and beaches until they are run in by horsemen breeding remounts for the Indian Army.
Destined for the Light Horse, they both set sail for Egypt where the young horse catches the eye of an Australian Light Horse trooper. Narrated by a horse, this is a tribute to the Australian Light Horse who came from all over Australia and left our shores to serve alongside humans.
This is a fictional narrative about 30 mins duration, seen through the eyes of a horse, reviving the historical significance of Fraser Island (K'gari) where horses were introduced to the island and bred on pastoral leases in the 1800-1900's.
