Don't miss an unforgettable collaborative workshop with Regional Spotlight artists Karee Dahl, focused on honouring the everyday through mark making.
During this workshop you will collaboratively work with other creatives to draw and paint using household tools, repurposed brooms, feather dusters and mops will be utilised to mimic repeated actions we perform everyday. Working at a large scale participants will gain an insight into Karee's contemporary art practice that has been grounded in installtion.
Facilitated by Visual Artist Karee Dahl you will be collectively equipped with minimal art materials to add foundational markings, artists will then progress to various other art supplies to imprint individual details onto your artwork.
Focused on the different approaches to installation, multidisciplinary contemporary practitioner Karee Dahl draws with thread to create soft expanding forms that use colour as a tool to generate tactile and spatial experiences for the audience.
Karee uses mark making to transform the often-overlooked mundanity of life into smalls acts of creative expression, “This medium has allowed me a freedom to understand the flexibility of all mediums – the understanding of mark making as a means of recording what you see or feel is a freedom that builds in ones’ approach to any medium, material … an ability to manipulate mark making, be it in 2D or 3D.”
