Dinner in a Situation | A Date with Colin Reaney

Hervey Bay Regional Gallery welcomes you to a celebration of food, art and creativity at Dinner in a Situation with artist Colin Reaney.

Ignite your sensations with extraordinary culinary decadence, dramatic performance and thought-provoking art as you dine in the gallery amongst the exhibition Colin Reaney: objects in a situation.

Internationally acclaimed patisserie chef Amanda Young has spent many years creating delicacies across the globe, from Paris to the UK, to Asia and the South Pacific and we are honoured to have her prepare a vegan menu with a difference, right here in Hervey Bay. Amanda believes that art and food are connected through various collaborations including culture, memory and sensory participation and the Dinner in a Situation experience will be a degustation-style affair with that will enhance the senses with eight small dishes served.

Engage with artist Colin Reaney as he hosts this memorable event to celebrate the final days of his exhibition, objects in a situation and explore the thoughts and ideas behind his artwork while enjoying an interactive and immersive art experience.

Your evening will come to a dramatic finale with a spectacular sculptural dessert created by Amanda in-situ, whilst mezzo soprano Richelle Nicholls sings opera to heighten the theatrical performance!

Amanda has designed a playful and inventive collection of vegan savouries, where fresh ingredients meet unexpected flavour combinations. This will be followed by an Edible Garden dessert. Drinks may be purchased at the gallery bar.
