Kick-off the Whale Festival and Exhibition Opening celebrations at HBRG by spending time in the gallery with the Regional Spotlight artists over morning tea. Regional Spotlight 2026 is a survey of work by local artist’s reflecting on time, change, culture, identity, and the beauty hidden in the everyday. Since 2024, the program has showcased local artists' work in a group exhibition curated from an open call, providing a glimpse into th ediversity of creative practices in the region - often spanning painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics and more. Celebrate the opening weekend of Regional Spotlight with the artists as they invite you to join them for a relaxed chat over a cuppa and morning tea. Children can create their own beautiful ocean-themed paper crowns while you enjoy watching the artists at work and getting to know their thoughts and processes in their creative journeys.
Regional Spotlight 2026 artists include: Joie Boulter, Emma Brown, Larissa Dabrowski, Karee Dahl, Paul Giudice, Darren Harrold, Simone Haupt, Lilian Horvath and Aurora Pearce.
