Name the Whales - Colouring in competition

Name the whales at the new Hervey Bay Library and colour in the picture for your chance to win!

Entries will be placed on display at Hervey Bay's new library at 23 Main Street, Pialba.

Winning colouring entries in each category will be selected by a panel of Fraser Coast Libraries staff.

Winning names will be chosen by People's Choice.  Voting will open at Hervey Bay Library from 8 October to 22 October 2026.

Winner will be announced at a presentation on Thursday 29 October at 3.30pm at the Hervey Bay Community Hub.

Terms and Conditions:

• Entrants must be a member of Fraser Coast Libraries.
• One entry per membership.
• Entries can be submitted at any Fraser Coast Libraries branch: Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Tiaro, Howard & Burrum Heads.
• The judge's decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
• Winning entries become the property of Fraser Coast Regional Council.
• Entrants are required to participate in all promotional activity surrounding the winning of any prize, free of charge and they consent to Fraser Coast Libraries and Fraser Coast Regional Council using their name and image in promotional material.
• A $50 Buy Local Gift Card will be awarded to each winning entry.
• The two whale names will be judged independently of each other and will be selected by People's Choice vote.
• Whale names should have a connection to the Fraser Coast.
