Podcasting Workshop with Declan Fay - Hervey Bay

Back in 2010 when most people didn't even know what a podcast was, Declan Fay started The Sweetest Plum Podcast with another comedy writer, Nick Maxwell. The show became the number one podcast in Australia, and lasted for 12 years, gaining audiences all over the world. Five years ago, he created a scripted comedy podcast called CrossBread for the ABC which was named in Apple's podcasts of the year. So he's the perfect person to help show you how to create your own podcast.

About the Speaker:

Declan Fay is an award-winning writer, producer, director and podcaster, who has worked with everyone from Ronny Chieng to Russell Crowe to Rove McManus.  

He co-created the award-winning TV comedy series Ronny Chieng: International Student which screened all over the world. He has written for Rove, Dirty Laundry Live, The Great Debate, Fancy Boy and You’re Skitting Me. He co-created the ABC narrative comedy podcast, Crossbread, which won an AWGIE, and was also nominated for an ARIA. He has worked on feature films such as Standing Up for Sunny, How to Make Gravy and the upcoming Sooshi Mango feature film. 

Declan has directed many award-winning comedy festival shows by comedians such as Felicity Ward, David Quirk and Greg Larsen. While his writing has appeared in The Guardian, The Age, and The Herald-Sun, and many other publications. He currently teaches comedy and screenwriting at Collarts.
