Showcasing the inspiring works of local artist Teigan Johnson as part of National Disability Action Week.
Her works reflect her mental health journey and explores themes of feeling unheard, unseen, and forgotten by a world that can sometimes overlook the person beyond the disability. Teigan recently made the decision to pursue her passion for art as a career, using her creativity to express her experiences and emotions. Living with Charcot – Marie-Tooth, a neurological degenerative condition, she is a self-taught artist who finds strength and joy through creating. Art has become her happy place - a space where she can push boundaries and find comfort even on difficult days. Her artwork gives voice to powerful emotions and serves as a reminder of the importance of seeing the person beyond the disability.
