Youth Week Exhibition Opportunity at Gatakers Artspace

Gatakers Artspace is excited to present a Youth Week Exhibition celebrating the creativity of young people aged 12–25 across our community.

This curated showcase will run from 11 April – 2 May, offering emerging artists a supportive, professional exhibition experience and a suite of valuable take-away assets.

What participating artists will receive

Participants selected for the showcase will have the opportunity to:

• Attend and assist with the installation of their exhibition, gaining behind-the-scenes insight into curating and preparing artworks for display.
• Receive a professional portrait photograph to use in Artist Bios and Profiles.
• Access professional assistance and critique in writing an Artist Profile.
• Receive a printed Exhibition Catalogue capturing evidence of the showcase opportunity.

How to Submit

To be considered, artworks must:

• Be created within the last 12 months
• Not have been previously exhibited
• Reflect the artist’s current creative interests
• Include an image of artwork submitted by 9 March 2026

Entries should include:

• An image of the artwork (used for the selection process)
• A short artwork description - including size and medium (example: A4 works on paper)
• A brief Artist Profile (tell us about yourself)

Submit entries via email to gatakersartspace@frasercoast.qld.gov.au by Monday, 9 March 2026.

All submissions will be assessed, and successful applicants will be notified by Thursday, 12 March 2026.

Additional Participation Requirements

Selected artists will need to be available on:

• 14 – 15 March 2026 for their professional portrait shoot.
• 9 April 2026 to attend and take part in the installation and curation process (optional).
