Pimp My Plumage

Presented by Jinx ArtGallery, this exhibition showcases extraordinary assemblage and found-object artworks created by local artists. Participants were invited to transform wooden bird shapes into colourful, quirky creations and submit them to an online gallery, while also joining the flock on display at Gatakers Artspace.

 

BirdLife Australia is sponsoring this event with prize money, helping elevate the celebration and support the artists who take part.

 

Why it exists To spark creativity, strengthen community, and shine a light on the importance of Australia’s birds. Birds are indicators of ecosystem health, storytellers of place and by celebrating them through art, we encourage people to notice, value, and protect them. It gives artists, dabblers, families, and curious makers a low‑pressure way to create something joyful and invites people to engage with art and nature in a hands‑on way.
