Exhibition Floor Talks: Tyza Hart, Dion Beasely, Zela Bissett
Next date: Saturday, 29 November 2025 | 11:00 AM
to 12:00 PM
To celebrate the opening weekend of our new exhibitions, you are invited for a morning with the artists. Gain special insight into our three exhibitions as the artists and curator take you on a guided Floor Talk.
Tyza Hart: Appearing
Hervey Bay Regional Gallery is proud to present the first institutional survey of Brisbane-based artist Tyza Hart’s practice. Appearing brings together key bodies of work produced over the past decade, charting the artist’s explorations of self-representation and embodied experience.
Dion Beasley: Six Dogs
Alywarr man Dion Beasley is an award-winning artist and illustrator, best-known for his unique observations of everyday life in remote communities—the streetscapes, families and most notably, the camp dogs that rule the streets. His drawings depict the social structures that exist between humans and animals, and the complex relationships between these rag-tag groups of dogs.
Weeds to Paper
Weeds to Paper is a collaborative project initiated by papermaker Zela Bissett with Butchulla Traditional Custodians and volunteers working in forest rehabilitation. Using plant matter as a sustainable form of creative expression, this exhibition suggests a new way of regarding weeds — as a resource rather than a nuisance.
