Mark Dober will undertake an Artist in Residence at Gatakers Artspace, a program designed to provide artists with time and space to develop new work and explore ideas. Observe Mark’s artistic process as he builds upon a body of work towards an exhibition at Gatakers Artspace in 2027.
Based in Castlemaine, Victoria, Mark Dober creates en plein air, painting in gouache and watercolour within the very locations he captures. Working across multi-sheet paper tessellations, his wetland and coastal scenes evoke an immersive and transportive quality akin to standing within the environment.
His landscapes commanding keenly present observation within a gallery setting, Mark has exhibited widely across Australia in both solo and curated exhibitions.
Mark will be offsite and upstairs in the Gatakers Studio during his residency for personal creation from 10am to 3.30pm.
