Join Victorian artist Mark Dober on a guided en plein air workshop that explores the vibrancy of Maryborough’s natural landscape through watercolour.

Held across unique locations in Maryborough, Mark will share his approach towards capturing the immersive and atmospheric elements of place.

Sessions are a relaxed way to immerse oneself within nature, and to observe, capture and appreciate the true essence of a place.

Event details

When: Saturday, 12 September 2026, 10am – 1pm
Where: Onsite at Truscott Park, access via gravel road on the corner of Neptune and Queen Streets and head towards the river.
Cost: $40 per person
Suitable for: Adults all skill level (limited spots available)

Sketchbook (paper will be supplied)
Watercolours (optional if participants prefer to bring their own)
Chair, stool or picnic blanket
Lunch, hat and water bottle

Workshop Cancellation Policy

Gatakers Artspace cannot accept responsibility for any changes in personal circumstances. Missed workshops or change of mind are at your own expense. If a participant chooses to cancel their confirmed registration, or cannot or does not attend the workshop, the following will apply:

The registered participant may invite another person to substitute their place in the workshop (in which they are registered) at any time at no charge;
If notice is received 2 or less days from the scheduled starting date, a refund will not be offered;
If a workshop is cancelled by Gatakers Artspace a full refund or a reschedule will be provided. Gatakers Artspace will endeavour to advise participants of cancellation at least 48 hours prior to workshop.
