Equipment and Tools

Tools and equipment are available for use by library members who have agreed to the Makerspace Usage Agreement and completed the relevant Equipment Skills Check.

3D Printers

The Makerspace features three Bambu Lab 3D Printers, giving you access to fast, high-quality printing for a wide range of projects. Whether you are creating replacement parts, hobby models, prototypes, gifts, educational resources or custom designs, 3D printing makes it easy to turn digital ideas into real-world objects.

Bookings are required for 3D printer use.

Please Note: Patrons are NOT permitted to use their own filament. The Makerspace will supply a limited range of filament colours for use during your booking.

Bambu Lab P2S 3D Printer

Uses: Single colour and multi-part prints. Easy to use for quick printing.

Sewing Machines

The Makerspace offers a range of sewing equipment, including two beginner sewing machines, an industrial sewing machine and an overlocker. Whether you are hemming clothing, repairing household items, creating garments, or crafting accessories, our equipment can help bring you projects to life.

Bookings are required for sewing, overlocker and embroidery machine use.

Vinyl Cutters and Heat Presses

The Makerspace offers a range of digital crafting equipment, including two Cricut Makers, a Cricut Autopress and Cricut Mug Press. Create custom decals, stickers, signs, cards, labels, apparel, mugs, and personalised gifts with professional-looking results.

Bookings are required for all vinyl cutter and heat press use. 

Patrons may bring and use compatible vinyl with the vinyl cutters. Limited vinyl and material is supplied.

Material: You may bring your own compatible vinyl and fabric. Limited vinyl and fabric supplied.

Uses: For applying infusible ink onto sublimation mugs.
Material: You must supply your own "sublimation" mug. Normal mugs will not work. You may bring your own compatible vinyl. Limited vinyl supplied.

Additional Tools and Resources

The Makerspace offers an assortment of basic hand tools to registered Makerspace patrons for use in the space. This includes:

  • Combination and cutting pliers
  • Measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, rulers, squares)
  • Screwdrivers and hex sets
  • Spanners

High-risk tools are restricted to patrons 18 years and over, must be loaned before use and must remain within the Makerspace.
